Thredbo Ski Resort - a winter wonderland for skiers and snowboarders

Thredbo is the most chic and cosmopolitan of the Snowy Mountains ski villages. It offers everything you could want in a purpose built ski resort. It was built in the 1940's on a site designed to ensure winter sports took place on the colder south facing slopes that hold the snow longer. Accommodation was built on the north facing slopes to receive longer winter sun hours.

Thredbo offers beginners and less experienced skiers and snowboarders comfortable, fun and safe settings where they can improve their skills including the dedicated beginner area at Friday Flat and gentle slopes of Merrits. Thredbo also has a snow sports school.

For more experienced skiers and snowboarders, there are endless hours of thrills and excitement on the tree sprinkled slopes of Mt Crackenback. If you are into rails, jumps, boxes and big air there are terrain parks to suit all levels. And if you are a cross country ski enthusiast, the stunning back country scenery will take your breath away. The Thredbo snow season begins in June and ends in October.

If you need to hire ski gear, there are plenty of places in Thredbo resort and throughout the Snowy Mountains area that supply equipment for downhill skiing, alpine touring, cross-country skiing, snowboarding or snow-shoeing.
